Our company is developing intensively, along with all the software and equipment that we create. If the server software is updated automatically, then the hardware (firmware) is a bit more complicated. The update can only be performed manually. In some cases, you will need a computer, a flat (slotted) screwdriver, the updateable module itself, a micro USB cable (for AlphaSE Hub2) or a mini USB for other modules (SE 6i5o Light, SE RGBW, SE Dim2o, etc.).
If the update causes difficulties, it is better to contact a specialist who has installed and configured your system, or send the devices to our office. The cost of the upgrade is 1000 rubles. per device, but not less than 5,000 rubles. Delivery from a convenient CDEK PVZ to our office and back is included in the price.
The cost of updating the system with a specialist visit to the facility may vary from region to region. For an apartment of 100m2 in Rostov-on-Don, the average is 25,000 rubles, in Moscow - 35,000 rubles. The price includes updating the device's microcontrollers, reconnecting the hub to WiFi, reloading offline scripts, and checking the system's operability.
If you already have a hub with a firmware version from 0 to 6 inclusive, then to update it, you need to request a firmware file from the technical support service. If the firmware version of your existing hub is from 7 to 8 inclusive, then you can download the firmware file from the "Firmware Update" section of the AlphaSE Hub2 card.
Before starting the firmware update, you will need to remove the chip using the video tutorial on VK or YouTube.
Connect the micro USB cord chip to your laptop. If the device is not identified as a COM port, you will need to install the CH210x driver, depending on your system and its bit depth (Windows 8/8.1/7, Windows 10).
Download and run the Flash download tool firmware for microcontrollers.
After launching the program, a window will appear in the fields of which the values should be set, as shown in the figure. To continue, click the "OK" button.
In the window that appears, you will need to specify the path to the firmware file by clicking the "..." button. Make sure that the value "0x00" is set in the next field. At the bottom of the program, select SPI SPEED 80 MHz, the COM port of the chip (in our case COM3) and the BAUD rate is 115200.
It is important to make sure that the Hub ID in the firmware name matches the Hub ID sticker on the board itself.
Press the "Start" button, wait for the end of the boot process and the start of frequent flashing of the chip LED.
The update is complete. Assemble AlphaSE Hub2 and reconfigure the WiFi.
This section is only applicable if your hub already has a 9 or higher firmware version and you need to update it.
Download the current firmware file from the "Firmware Update" section of the AlphaSE Hub2 card. The file is universal for all IDs starting from firmware version 9 inclusive.
Check the password for updating the hub in your personal account.
Find the IP address of the hub using the video instructions on (YouTube or VK).
Using your computer's Internet browser, connect to AlphaSE Hub2, click the "Firmware Update" button, and enter your username and password.
On the update page, in the Firmware update section, select the firmware file and click the "Update Firmware" button. Videos in VK.
The update process takes about 15 seconds. After that, AlphaSE Hub2 will reboot on its own, and after about 5 minutes it will be online again and available for operation. When updating the firmware, no WiFi network settings or internal scripts are lost.
At the time of writing, the company has already released dozens of different module boards and a significantly higher number of firmware for them. Due to the fact that downloading an unsuitable firmware version may disable the module, self-updating is not allowed. For help, please contact the technical support service. When contacting us, specify the module model and the version of the board. It is applied in white.
