Lighting control from motion sensor

This article will cover the connection and setup of a motion sensor for lighting control. This type of control is most often used in hallways, corridors, walk-in closets, and bathrooms. The lights will turn on automatically when people appear and turn off after they leave. The shutdown delay time can be set in the range from 1 to 255 minutes. It should be noted that when using the motion sensor, it will still be possible to control the lighting group from your phone or Yandex Station.

We will need the SE6i5o Light lighting control module, AlphaSE Hub2 for Internet control, and any security motion sensor with a normally closed alarm contact. We use the Astra-7 ceiling sensor, but we can use the Astra-5, Icar-9, LC-100PI wall sensors. The principle of their connection is the same, they differ, to a greater extent, in appearance.

Connection

The motion sensor needs a 12V DC power supply, it can be taken from the SE BPWR unit or directly from the power supply. The signal terminals of the sensor are connected to the inputs of the modules.

Setting

By default, all module inputs operate in push-button switch mode. To work with the motion sensor, it is necessary to change the logic of the module input. To do this, log into your personal device management account, select the module to which the sensor is connected and set the following parameters according to the instructions.

Step 1.Setting the logic of operation

The motion sensors of security alarms have a normally closed alarm contact. This means that it is closed while the sensor is at rest. When motion is detected, the signal contact opens for a few seconds.

For correct operation, the SE 6i5o Light module must be configured by specifying the input to which the sensor will be connected. This is done by setting the module parameters.

Step 2.Setting the auto-off time

After that, we will set the delay time for switching off the lighting. It can range from 2 seconds to 255 minutes. The value 0 corresponds to 2 seconds, the remaining values set the time in minutes.

Step 3.Setting up additional control from the switch

Starting with version 17, the SE 6i5o Pro modules now have the ability to simultaneously control a group of lighting using a motion sensor and a switch. To do this, you will need to occupy two inputs in a row on the module. A sensor(s) will be connected to the first input, and a push—button switch to the second. Let's look at an example where Bx.1 and Bx will be occupied.2. By default, Output 1 will be controlled by the motion sensor, but when the button is briefly pressed for the first time (Bx.2), the sensor control will be turned off and the lighting will be controlled by the switch (Bx.2). To turn on the motion sensor control again, it will take one and a half seconds to close the switch (Bx.2).

To configure the settings of this logic, it is necessary to set the appropriate logic for input 2 in the module settings.
