Projector screen control

Who hasn't dreamed of owning their own home theater? A large screen, good sound, and comfortable chairs are an integral part of it. This article is for those who have decided to make their dreams come true and do it with their own hands.

We will analyze the topic in parts and start with the projection screen. It must be equipped with an electric drive. In this case, by connecting the screen to automation, opening and closing can be controlled by voice, from the phone and as part of scripts. Suffice it to say: “Alice, turn on the cinema,” and she will turn on the projector on her own, open the screen, close the curtains and turn off the lights. Isn't it a miracle?

Before buying a screen, you need to familiarize yourself with its technical characteristics and control method. Two types of screens are suitable for our home theater — controlled by dry contacts or phase. The differences will be in the connection schemes and the cables used for this. The model of the control module is the same - SECurtain DIN. If you still have any questions after reading the article, be sure to write to us or send us the drive model you are going to buy, we will help.

If the drive has low-current control, most often it is permanently connected to 220V power supply. and it has an additional 3-wire for control. A short circuit of the "Open" and "Common" wires will lead to the opening of the screen, a short circuit of "Close" and the general "Common" will lead to closure. If you close 3 wires at the same time, the drive will stop.

In the case of phase control, the power supply is 220V. And the control is done via a single 3-core wire. One of the cores is permanently connected to the neutral (N), and the phase must be applied to one of the two remaining cores "Open" or "Close". While the "Open" phase is being applied, the screen will open, if the phase enters the "Close" core, it will close. In no case should the phase be applied simultaneously to the "Open" and "Close" wires, this may cause the drive to fail.

In both cases, it is better to supply 220V power to the screen drive using a VVG-ng-LS 3x1.5 cable.

Setting

By default, the SECurtain or SECurtain DIN modules operate in low-precision control mode. To configure the power control, you need to configure it in Alice's Device Settings.

It is also necessary to adjust the phase feed time. This parameter is equal to the time (in seconds) required to fully open/close the screen.

Example

For example, take the Lumien Eco Control LEC-100107 screen.

The connection in this case will look like this.

Conclusion

Upon successful connection and configuration of the slide-out screen to the SECurtain DIN and AlphaSE Hub module, remote control from a smartphone or voice, as well as as part of scripts or deferred time action, will become available.
